Happy Wellness Wednesday everyone! I hope you all have had a beautiful week so far, and are loving the cooler fall weather (I know I am)!! The leaves are changing and sweater weather is finally upon us, and my entire being could not be happier! Also, I have had the best time daily vlogging for Vlogtober, so definitely head over to my YouTube channel to see what I’ve been up to!
With the midterm season upon us, I wanted to share 11 of my favorite ways to detox and de-stress! Stress is something that we all experience, but it’s also something that can easily be reduced with a little bit of TLC! Treat yourself to some self-love (you deserve it), and you’ll find that handling stress will become much easier with time!
Plan It Out
Sometimes the biggest cause of stress can be a lack of organization, and not knowing what your week entails. I am a huge advocate for utilizing a planner, and I think taking time to write and plan out the week is the key to success! Every Sunday I like to plan out my entire week, which makes it much easier to arrange meetings and coffee dates since I’m aware of my schedule!
My favorite planners are the Erin Condren Life Planner & the Lilly Pulitzer Agenda! I’m also interested in The Happiness Planner for the new year!
Rest & Recover
Getting enough sleep and enough relaxation is one of the best things for your body. You cannot function to your full potential without allowing your body to rest, so definitely take care of yourself and have some me-time!
I like to watch Netflix (currently Glimore Girls), read, write/plan, and listen to acoustic music, and I always make sure to get 7+ hours of sleep each night!
Go Outdoors
Fresh air is the best cure for pretty much anything! Enjoy the beauty around you, and indulge in all that our beautiful world has to offer! Whether it’s hammocking, taking a walk, or simply enjoying the sunshine, going outside will refresh your mind, body and soul!
I love sitting outside with a hot cup of tea early in the morning while the sun rises, when it feels as if the rest of the world is peaceful and quiet!
Digital Detox
Take time to turn off your devices, and enjoy a detox without constant connection. Have conversations and quality time without checking your phone, laptop, or without having the tv on! Your mind is constantly stimulated from electronics, allow yourself to have a break and try to “forget” to pick up your phone!
Some of my favorite ways to detox are to play board/card games, have drinks and chat with friends/loved ones, exercise, and read!
Get Exercise
Exercising is so wonderful for your body, and it will leave you feeling rejuvenated and motivated! It’s so easy to lay around when you’re feeling stressed, but try working out your emotions by hitting the gym! Play beach volleyball, go disc golfing, or go on a hike/walk; whatever gets you up and active!
I love intense cardio sessions, hot yoga, spinning, pure barre, tennis, skiing, and any sort of group workout class!
Light A Candle
There’s something so relaxing about a burning candle, which is probably why I have one burning whenever I’m home! Candles are great for aromatherapy, and they just add the perfect level of coziness to any room!
My favorite stress-relieving candles are Bath and Body Works’ Stress Relief or Focus, and Yankee Candle Lavender Vanilla!
Drink Tea
There is literally nothing in the world that is better than a hot cup of tea, in my opinion! I have at least five cups of tea a day (no exaggeration!), because I love the warmth as well as the subtle flavor! Tea is a great way to get hydrated while feeling calm and relaxed, plus it’s absolutely wonderful for you both inside and out!
My favorite teas are oolong, any black tea, mint, vanilla, and chamomile!
Create A Morning/Evening Routine
Create a healthy morning and evening routine for yourself, that way you can always have enjoyable moments at the beginning and end of each day! This will also help you stick to a daily routine/schedule, which will leave you feeling more successful and organized! Having a morning/evening routine that works for you will make each day much more positive and each evening much more relaxing!

Go Explore
Travel, take a road trip, or visit a new coffeehouse that you’ve been thinking about! Anything that is going to spark your sense of wonder and excitement! The best part is, exploring can be completely free and it will always leave you feeling inspired and accomplished!
I love visiting new restaurants/coffeehouses, taking walks without direction, and, of course, traveling across the globe!
Utilize Friends/Family/Loved Ones
While stress may make you want to seclude yourself, try opening up to those who are close to you. Make plans to spend quality time with them, and utilize their positivity and love! You don’t have to go through anything alone; through good times and bad they will always be there! Love is one of the best things, share it, spread it, and enjoy it!
I love planning coffee dates and girl’s days, calling my mom (daily!), spending quality time with my family, and loving each and every day spent with Doug!
Cook/Bake
There’s nothing I love more than cooking a yummy meal, or baking something sweet! This is something that can be done alone, or with friends, and will be just as enjoyable regardless! The best part is, you get to enjoy what you make afterwards!!
I love looking through cookbooks and picking out recipes, baking sweets with Doug, and cooking meals together with my parents!
Smile & Laugh
When I was younger, my dad bought me a canvas that said “laugh often” and it has resonated with me to this day! Find something to smile or laugh about every single day, whether it’s watching videos of your pets, sharing memories with friends, or reminiscing about how you looked as an awkward pre-teen (ME)!
Smile at strangers, laugh out loud just because, and spread positivity!
…
Life is too short to be anything but happy, so let yourself be!
Love & Good Vibes
