Hello Again!

Hi everyone! It’s been quite a while, and quite a lot has changed! Since we last spoke, I got married (May 2021), I had our son Carter (April 2023) and just celebrated his first birthday, left my previous career and started a new one, picked up many new hobbies, traveled to many new places, and have been romanticizing the hell out of life! I’ve done a lot of soul searching, healing, growing, and I feel like I’ve finally found a version of myself that I am so proud of!

If you’ve kept up with me on Instagram, you may know that my content has drastically shifted over the years. From the early “influencer” days of endless collaborations and keeping up with ever changing trends, I felt like I was lacking authenticity with my content. I decided to take a step back in 2020 during the pandemic as I was burnt out, overwhelmed, and felt in-genuine with my online presence. During these four years, I’ve struggled to find a place “online” that feels natural to me. I feel like I finally found the perfect balance on Instagram; with sharing meaningful photo dumps and a glimpse into my real life on stories, but something was missing (spoiler: this blog)!

One thing that has remained the same about me is my desire to try new things and express my creativity, and I’m excited to share what I have in mind for the future of Simply Tess!

The first and most exciting update: I’m starting a new weekly series called the “Weekly Review”, where I’ll be sharing everything I’m loving each week! I’ve been sharing a “weekly r.e.p.o.r.t” on my Instagram story where I share what I’ve been reading, eating, playing, obsessing, recommending and treating, and I will be following a similar format here with a few extra additions! You can expect the Weekly Review post every Monday morning, recapping the previous week! I will also be sharing the Weekly Review on my Substack, and would love for you to subscribe!

The second update is simply what this blog will be used for! Think virtual scrapbook meets substack newsletter, where I’ll share my hobbies, travel, style, and generally what’s going on in my life! These posts will be a bit more inconsistent than the Weekly Review, and will be ever-changing with the seasons! You can expect to see quite a few posts coming in during the next few weeks, as I recap some highlights from the past four years!

I’m so excited to be back, thank you for staying with me through the past (almost) nine years!
